OpenAI Expands Deep Research Feature: Enhancing AI-Powered Information Retrieval

OpenAI has announced the wider rollout of Deep Research, an advanced AI-driven feature designed to improve information retrieval and citation accuracy within ChatGPT. Initially launched in limited preview, Deep Research is now available to all ChatGPT Plus, Team, Edu, and Enterprise users, significantly increasing its accessibility.

What is Deep Research?

Deep Research is a sophisticated tool that enables ChatGPT to deliver more accurate, well-cited, and trustworthy responses. By integrating advanced retrieval techniques and expert-reviewed data, this feature enhances AI-assisted research, making it more reliable for users.

Key Enhancements and Features

Since its initial release, OpenAI has made several refinements to Deep Research, ensuring it remains both user-friendly and precise. The latest updates include:

  • Embedded images with citations to provide more visually informative responses.
  • Improved understanding of uploaded files, allowing ChatGPT to retain and reference contextual information more effectively.

Usage Limits Across Different Plans

To manage demand and ensure equitable usage, OpenAI has implemented query limits based on subscription tiers:

  • ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users: 10 deep research queries per month
  • Pro users: 120 deep research queries per month

These limits help balance access while maintaining performance quality for all users.

OpenAI’s Commitment to Safe and Reliable AI

To maintain transparency and accountability, OpenAI has published a system card detailing how Deep Research was built, its core capabilities, potential risks, and the safety measures in place. The company highlights that Deep Research was trained with input from hundreds of domain experts, ensuring its reliability across various fields.

Industry Impact and Future Developments

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman expressed enthusiasm for Deep Research, calling it “one of my favorite things we have ever shipped.” This expansion aligns with OpenAI’s broader mission of enhancing AI-assisted research and bridging the gap between AI and accurate information retrieval.

As AI continues to evolve, Deep Research sets a new benchmark for AI-powered information discovery, positioning OpenAI as a leader in making AI-generated insights more credible and actionable.

Stay tuned for further enhancements as OpenAI continues to refine and improve the Deep Research feature.

Shashi Tharoor Admits Misjudgment on India’s Neutral Stance in Russia-Ukraine War

Congress leader and Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor has publicly acknowledged that he was mistaken in opposing India’s neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war when it first erupted in 2022. Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi on Tuesday during a session titled ‘Waging Peace: Looking Back to Look Ahead’ , Tharoor candidly admitted that India’s diplomatic approach has, in hindsight, positioned the country as a potential peacemaker on the global stage. "An Egg on My Face" – Tharoor’s Honest Reflection "I am still wiping the egg off my face because I am one person in the parliamentary debate who actually criticized the Indian position at the time back in February 2022," Tharoor confessed. At the time, he had strongly condemned Russia’s military actions, advocating that India should denounce the aggression based on principles of the UN Charter, the sovereignty of Ukraine, and the inviolability of international borders . However, with three years of g...

Delhi High Court Denies Maintenance to Educated Wife: A Landmark Ruling

In a recent judgment, the Delhi High Court held that a well-educated woman, capable of earning a living, should not remain unemployed just to claim maintenance from her husband. The ruling came in response to a revision petition filed by a woman challenging a family court’s 2022 decision that denied her interim maintenance. The Court’s Stand on Maintenance Justice Chandra Dhari Singh stated that Section 125 of the CrPC aims to protect dependent spouses, children, and parents but does not encourage idleness. He asserted that women with professional qualifications and work experience should make efforts to become financially independent rather than relying on alimony. The court upheld the family court’s decision, noting that the petitioner had a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Wollongong, Australia , which demonstrated her capability to earn. Furthermore, she had previously worked in Dubai as an Audit Associate at KPMG and later as an HR Manage...
