On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, an impactful video was shared by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), featuring influencer and activist Montana Tucker, alongside Arno Michaelis, a former Neo-Nazi who has since renounced his extremist beliefs. Together, they took a stand against antisemitism and the ongoing need for Holocaust education.
The video, filmed on the iconic Santa Monica Pier in Southern California, showcased Tucker and Michaelis engaging with passersby in meaningful street conversations about the Holocaust and the rise in antisemitism. This outreach initiative comes on the heels of a recent CAM study that revealed a disturbing 61% of American Jews have experienced antisemitism since October 7, 2023—a statistic that emphasizes the urgent need for education and awareness.
“As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, I feel it is my duty to honor their stories and ensure the lessons of the Holocaust are not lost on future generations,” said Tucker in the video. “Standing with Arno, who embodies the potential for transformation, proves that even the darkest histories can be turned around through education and empathy. We are showing that meaningful dialogue can break down hatred and build a bridge toward unity.”
Michaelis, who once held radical extremist views, has devoted his life to educating others on the dangers of hate and prejudice. Now, a public speaker, author, and activist, he shares his personal journey of redemption and works to intervene in the lives of those at risk of falling into extremist ideologies.
Published on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, this video highlights the powerful collaboration between Tucker and Michaelis, underscoring how empathy and education can challenge and ultimately reshape deep-seated biases.
CAM, a global coalition of over 850 organizations, continues to be at the forefront of the fight against antisemitism, with over 5 million people from diverse backgrounds working together for a world free from hate.
Their message is clear: through learning from the past and fostering understanding, we can create a future where peace and unity triumph over hate. The combined efforts of voices like Tucker and Michaelis prove that there is always hope for change, even in the face of deep prejudice.
